I was expecting this movie to be, quite frankly, a lot gayer than it was. I went into it expecting a lot of lesbian scenes, but there really was hardly any interaction between two females at all; the two main characters both had good relationships with men (and a lot... a lot... of hetero sex). But the thing is, for once, I didn't mind. The plot was so good and intriguing and pretty that it was fine.
The colours were very green and some gold, a lot of darks. It made the movie seem a little unreal and a little mystical. It reminded me of how the matrix was portrayed in The Matrix with the green hue; seeming just a bit more magical. It's a simple effect, but I love how something so simple as colour can make a scene so different and vibrant. Overall, I thought Veronique was great! I recommend it definitely, but it's more of a movie to watch alone.
Warnings for The Double Life of Veronique: lots and lots of sex, cursing (I think?), a really creepy sequence with some dolls, death, French
